TOP pop star Peter Andre is putting a smile back on the face of a York youngster following the tragic death of his mother.
Tracy Green, 34, of Huntington, recently died after a short battle against cancer, leaving behind two young sons, Jack and Tom.
Ten-year-old Jack, who is now living with Tracy's sister, Dawn Walton, dreamed of meeting Aussie heart-throb Peter, after taking a shine to him during his mum's illness.
Now the singer - who starred in in the TV show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Of Here where he met his girlfriend, glamour model Jordan - has agreed to meet Jack after the Evening Press intervened on the boy's behalf.
We contacted the star's agent, after we heard of Jack's dream, and the singer was only too happy to help.
The pair will meet at an HMV store opening in Huddersfield on Thursday.
"Jack thinks it's a miracle. He can't believe it," Dawn told the Evening Press. "He is absolutely obsessed with Peter and Jordan. He loves singing along to Mysterious Girl.
"The prospect of meeting Peter has made a world of difference to Jack because it has given him something to look forward to. It's something to cheer him up at such a sad time as this. It's fantastic."
Dawn said Jack was so fanatical about Peter that he wanted to change his name to "Junior Andre", dye his hair black and cover himself in fake tan.
His bedroom walls are also covered in posters of the star and his glamour girlfriend Jordan. The pair recently made an appearance at York's Ikon & Diva nightclub.
Jack's brother, Tom, 12, has lived with Tracy's other sister, Emma Green, since her death, but the pair regularly meet up.
"Tracy was a really outgoing, sociable person," said Dawn.
"Everyone in Huntington knew her. Over the last couple of months Jack really made his mum laugh when he made everyone call him Junior Andre."
Peter will be appearing alongside HMV's Top Dog, Nipper, to cut the red ribbon at the new HMV store in Huddersfield.
The opening coincides with the release of Peter's long awaited Insania track which follows the mammoth success of the re-release of his Mysterious Girl single, which went straight to Number One selling more than 280,000 copies.
A spokeswoman for Peter Andre said: "Peter always likes to meet his fans and is looking forward to speaking to Jack."
