AFTER the abundance of long weekends, this weekend will be the last bank holiday for a little while.
To help all you lovely yorktwenty4seven readers make the most of it, here's a round-up of some events going on in the city's bars and clubs.
Ikon & Diva has a bumper weekend of events planned, kicking off with a Balearic Foam Party tonight. Tomorrow night sees another top act making a guest appearance at the Clifton Moor club, with XTM performing hit single Fly On The Wings Of Love, and the Sunday Service rounding things off. The club will be open until 2am every night.
The fresh and funky Supa Fi returns to City Screen's Basement Bar tonight, between 7.30pm and 11pm, with resident DJ Duke Dylanja. Advance tickets are £3.50 or £3 for members, otherwise its £4 on the door.
The fantastic Fingathing are back in the city on Monday, a year on from their York debut, for a joint gig between Fibbers and Beatsiality.
Manchester's decks and double bass combo will be supported by E.N.D. featuring Joe Lung, plus Richie Fiction, Player 2, and Beats residents, Jed 104, Bigtim & Tommy Lockjaw. Tickets are £7 in advance or £8 on the door.
Hard house night Savaged takes over the caf-bar in Toffs between 10pm and 2pm on Sunday. Admission is £4 or £3 with a membership card.
On the decks will be up-and-coming female DJ from Manchester, Sol, along with GRH and resident Martin C. To get you in the mood, there will be a free warm-up party at Walkers Bar, in Micklegate, from 7pm.
If house club classics are your thing, Evo host a free night of retro dance favourites at The Grapes, in King Street, from 8pm on Sunday. On the decks will be DJs Guy Whattam and Rob Booth.
For those wanting something more relaxed, Kate and Daniel will be playing a selection of rock and pop classics at The Living Room throughout the weekend. The new riverside bar and restaurant is open until midnight Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
