THIS treble CD collection encompassing the career of one of the punk movements legendary bands.
Sham 69 were formed in 1976 by lead singer Jimmy Pursey with their name taken from a piece of graffiti on the toilet wall of his local football team, Walton and Hersham.
The band had a style all of their own, with hard rock music and pop sing-along lyrics, such as Hurry Up Harry, If The Kids Are United and Hersham Boys.
Jimmy Pursey and guitarist Dave Parsons penned virtually all of the band's material and were ably supported by Albie Slider (bass) and Mark Caine (drums). The band's seven hit singles are featured along with cover versions of the Sex Pistols' Pretty Vacant and The Clash's White Riot.
The Beatles' Daytripper gets an airing, the bass guitar is excellent but the delivery of the lyrics leaves much to be desired.
