THE clash of the Cygnet 'A' and 'C' teams in York John Smith's Ladies Darts League division one was a truly great ladies' match.
The 'A' team's Michelle Britton included two 140s and a 116 finish for 15 darts, while Roz Kerr hit 125 and 100 for 18.
For the 'C' team Wendy Smith hit a singles 121 and 100 and followed up with a pairs maximum. Her team colleague Dawn Exton included two 100s and a 134.
The score was 3-3 after the singles and the 'C' team took all the pairs to triumph.
Jo Hodges-D Maskill were match winners for Clifton 'A' after Jan Wilbraham-Ruth Norman had put them level at Independent.
Phoenix's Babs Harrison closed with a two dart 78 as they beat Slip 7-2. Sue Tate's win gave Slipper an unassailable lead at Holgate. A 24 from Jean Smallwood-Pat Norman secured Leeman 'B' success at Dringhouses.
Clifton 'B' team's captain inspired them to a 7-2 victory over Shepherd 'B' which took them to top spot in division two.
Sun are joint second after Dorothy Barker-Audrey Seymour secured their win at Tang Hall WMC. Sun are level with Blacksmiths, whose Dot Trousdale-Beverley Lawson sealed victory at Shepherd 'A'.
Alison Buckley (121, 100) launched Britannia and then partnered Rose Foakes to clinch success against Cygnet 'B'.
Burton WMC buckled under division three leaders Woolpack's finishing power. Jackie Gray-Peggy Rose won the decider for Leeman 'A' against Acomb after excellent scoring from Tracey Yeomans.
Leeman 'D' recovered from 4-0 down to beat their 'C' team, Dawn Murray-Mandy Waddington winning the decider.
Crescent's 6-1 win over the Slipper took them top York White Rose Ladies League division one. Lord Collingwood beat Fulfordgate 6-1 to put them a close second.
Yvonne Ryder, helped by a 101 score, won the deciding game for Coach and Horses against Fulford Conservative Club.
Chris Fern took the decider for Acomb Sports Club against Alice Hawthorn to keep them top of division two.
The two Bowling Clubs clashed with Gill Holden taking the decider for the Acomb club. Katie Reynolds' ton helped Lord Nelson 'A' to a 4-3 win over Nelson 'B'.
Sun on fire to stretch lead
Sun Inn extended their lead at the top of York Unique-Phoenix Darts League division one with a 9-0 win at Blacksmiths Arms.
Tony Cooper led the way with a team game maximum and then a 15 darter in his singles.
He was well backed by Chris Thompson (180), Jon O'Mara (20) and an 88, bull finish from Dave Gibbons.
Cygnet 'A' were 3-0 up at Shepherd SC, whose Heath Scaife (180) then gamed in 13 darts. Mick Willsden hit 180 for 15, and Paul Botterill gamed in 19 to clinch victory for Shepherd. Kev O'Hara was best for Cygnet with 20 darts.
Mark Hartley was Ebor's matchwinner at Cygnet 'B', who had maximums from Craig Wedge (20) and Paul Cooper (21) and Ally Wray with 17 darts. Tony Raymond (17) and Paul Armstrong (21) also did well for Ebor.
Dave Tute hit an 80 finish for Acomb in their 8-1 win over Phoenix 'A', while Ged McMahon (21) was Rose & Crown's matchwinner against Hospital SC 'A', whose Phil Good was out in 20, Mike Kearney in 21 and Nick Harteveld gamed in 17.
Division two leaders Acorn ARL took out nearest rivals Flag 8-1 while a 19 darter from Rob Platt saw Slipper to victory against Alice.
Toni Smallwood guided Hospital SC 'B' to success at Lord Nelson and Di Moorland hit a team game maximum and a 160 in her singles as Phoenix 'B' beat Sun Inn 7-2.
Neil Hart included a 180 for 17 and then closed on 21 to secure victory against Holgate WMC, whose Gaz Stewart hit 180 and a 99 finish for 18.
