AFTER notching their first victory last week, Stillington maintained their momentum in spectacular fashion when they rolled over Woodhouse Grange for just 14 runs in division three.
Matthew Coulson hit a purple patch which saw him take six wickets for a mere three runs in nine overs while Wayne Linton's 4-10 was almost as impressive. Stillington then took a mere 17 balls to record one of the quickest wins in the history of the league.
An even more spectacular recovery saw Clifton Alliance emerge from the doldrums of 24-6 to beat Bubwith by three wickets.
Robin Kitching 52 made a half century for the villagers with Ed Smith chipping in with 29. However, three bowlers combined to dismiss Bubwith for 130 with Chris Dower leading the way with 4-27 and John Thornton 3-15 and Dave Heartshorne 3-29 giving solid support.
Brian Last 3-35 and Richard Hunter 3-38 then laid the Alliance top order to waste as Clifton crashed to 24-6. Chris Dower 32 started the recovery then saw Alex Wray make an unbeaten 31 from the number 8 berth and John Thornton hit 43no at number nine to seal an improbable victory at 131-7.
Bolton Percy replaced their beaten opponents Acomb in second place when they recorded an eight-wicket win. Rob Littlewood made 51 and John Renshaw an unbeaten 49 in Acomb's 167-4.
Dave Russell responded with 62 before an unbeaten 56 from Danny White saw Bolton home.
Malton and Old Malton are not finding life easy crashed to a heavy defeat at New Earswick.
James Routledge's dismissal for 43 preceded an impressive partnership between Andy James who made 81no and Andy Freeman 65no which saw the pair add an unbroken 150 for the fourth wicket which took Earswick to 229-3. Lester Parkin was Malton's only batting success as he made 33 whilst Martin Hewitson took 3-14 and Michael James 3-10 to have his side all out for 87.
Both sides were dismissed in exactly the same number of overs when Yapham suffered a home defeat against Wilberfoss.
Phil Stothard made 32 and Geoff Room 34 for Wilberfoss who were dismissed for 143 in 44.2 overs by Nigel West and Dave Barnes who had identical returns of 4-32.
Josh Room then took 5-37 as the Yapham side struggled to an all out total of 124.
