IN your article "Blunder brings paper to York" (May 14), the copy of Hambleton News which Eric Daines is pictured holding clearly boasts that Hambleton Council is "Making Life Better".
How can this claim hold true when it is obviously making life a living hell for Mr Daines, who has twice suffered the trauma of receiving the said newsletter - and he lives down the road from Hambleton district?
I praise Mr Daines for bringing this terrible situation to our attention. Can Mr Daines sue the council for mental anguish?
I sympathise with Mr Daines as, on four occasions, leaflets from fast food outlets have been posted through my letterbox which clearly advertise fare such as "meat supreme" and "burgers" even though I myself am vegetarian.
Just as Mr Daines is concerned about the extra few pence incurred by Hambleton council's inexcusable error being passed on to ratepayers, I too wonder if fast food firms are passing on the costs of my leaflets to unknowing pizza eaters.
