SIMON Dyson must have wished he'd stayed in China after an anguished exit from the Deutsche Bank-SAP Open in Germany.
The North Yorkshire ace went into the European Tour event in good form after finishing second in the BMW Asian Open in China.
After a first round level-par 72 at the St Leon-Rot course in Hiedelberg, he opened his second round with birdies on the par-five first hole and par-five third.
But then it was all downhill - and rapidly too. By the turn he had gone from two-under to two-over with dropped shots on the fifth, sixth, seventh and ninth holes.
But the inward nine was even more miserable for the Malton and Norton GC player.
Dyson double-bogeyed the tenth, dropped a shot on the next hole, and then suffered shooting a miserable eight on the par-four 406-yard 15th. There were dropped shots too at the final three holes to leave him with a 12-over-par 84 and an ignominious departure at the half-way stage.
