RICHARD Safhill returns to his home city to perform with the Aquarelle Guitar Quartet at the Church of St Chad on Knavesmire, Campleshon Road, York, next Saturday (29th).
"I am originally from York, and I studied at the Royal Northern College of Music where I formed the quartet with Michael Baker, Vasilis Bessas and James Jervis," says Richard, who is based in Manchester.
"We perform around the country, including recent concerts in St Martin in the Fields, London and Holkham Hall, Norfolk. Last weekend we came to Yorkshire for concerts at the Scarborough Library concert room and in Sheffield, and we'll be in North Yorkshire again on July 26 at the Ryedale Festival."
Next Saturday's concert has been organized by the Reverend Simon Stanley, vicar of St Chad. "He used to be the vicar of the parish church of Dunnington, the village where I grew up," says Richard.
Tickets for the 7.30pm concert cost £5, concessions £4, on the door.
