PRAIRIE FALCON, at the age of ten, can show his junior rivals a clean pair of heels at Newmarket tomorrow.
Barry Hills' evergreen veteran goes for the Robinsons Mercedes-Benz SLK Handicap over a mile and a half .
A prolific winner throughout his career, Prairie Falcon made an encouraging return to action on this course last month when finishing third to Sentry, beaten only two heads.
Prairie Falcon would not need to improve on that display to take the honours tomorrow over the same distance.
After spending time away training in Hong Kong, Peter Chapple-Hyam has made a sparkling return to British racing this year and the Newmarket handler can continue his revival with Harrison Point in the Robinsons Mercedes-Benz M-Class Handicap.
The four-year-old, previously with John Gosden and a largely frustrating performer, has won both his races for Chapple-Hyam this season on all-weather tracks.
Now back on turf, he is fancied to complete a hat-trick and it is a tip in itself that the trainer has got the services of champion jockey Kieren Fallon for the mount.
A change of stable can often inspire a dramatic boost in form in horses, which is why Solo Flight should not be overlooked in the Essex and Suffolk Chamber of Commerce Classified Stakes.
The seven-year-old showed himself to be a very talented horse during his previous career with Barry Hills, but he remained slightly frustrating.
His tendency was to arrive late on the scene or meet trouble in running after trying to come from the rear of the field. Now with Hughie Morrison, he is not a horse to underestimate.
The Robinsons Mercedes-Benz A-Class Stakes brings together a decent bunch of three-year-olds.
Of particular note is Almuraad, a maiden race winner on his debut last season before finishing a respectable sixth in the Royal Lodge Stakes on his only other start.
Sir Michael Stoute's colt looks the part to enjoy a profitable second season.
At Haydock, the William Haggas stable, which is in good form, can add to its tally of winners with my Nap selection Flowerdrum in the Golborne Rated Handicap.
A comfortable one-length winner at Yarmouth last time out, Flowerdrum looks the type to keep on the right side. She can follow-up here with Richard Hughes again booked for the mount.
Tim Easterby's horses have struck form in the last couple of weeks and the Great Habton trainer has good prospects of landing the opening race, the Stella Molony Maiden Auction Stakes, with Space Shuttle.
David Allan's mount ran a good first race at Doncaster to finish third behind the highly-regarded Mystical Land. Sure to have benefitted from that outing, he makes obvious appeal here.
Friday's tips:
