I WOULD like to suggest another dangerous outer ring road roundabout to add to the one reported by Sylvia Langan ("Confusing signs row at roundabout," May 3). This is the one which has exits to Wigginton Road.
I approach this roundabout from Wigginton intending to exit on to the A1237 towards Rawcliffe (A19). I have frequently experienced incidents where drivers entering the roundabout from the opposite Wigginton Road junction come into my path, while I am still traversing the roundabout, passing that exit but still unable to indicate to leave the roundabout because of the exit/entrance to Clifton Moor.
I then realise there is a car travelling parallel to me, this puts me in a quandary, because I don't know if the driver is going to take the same exit as me, or if they are going to cut across me to continue round the roundabout.
Safety relies on split second decisions based on second-guessing other drivers, which could make the difference between safety and a serious accident.
