As the sun shone over Raker Lakes at Wheldrake on Sunday so the residents of Horseshoe Lake went on a feeding frenzy for the final match in the spring series.
With over half the field of 30 bagging 40lb or more of prime carp it needed a big weight to win.
Mal Laverack (Selby), who has been the man in form for most of the series, won with 88lb 14oz.
Drawn to fish from peg 14 he used bread on the surface with a floating pole at 18 metres and netted carp to 6lb.
Rob Eden (JT Rogers) also used floating bread from end peg one where he targeted the rushes in the corner for his all carp haul of 71-3-0.

The opening York match of the three match series at Laybourne Lakes proved tricky in the bright conditions, with fish hard to find.
Ray Kay led from peg 46, where he fished pole with pellet and paste at 13 metres for small carp net of 31lb 13oz.
Steve Hargreaves took second with another catch of small carp taken on pole and pellet for 21lb 5oz

The 49-peg Bob.Co open match at the Willows saw young Joe Carras (Team Gem) score an easy win from peg 24 on Ridgepool. Offering pellet up in the water across to the island he had 72lb 10oz of carp to 7lb.
Dave Pollitt (Hirst Tackle) was second with top weight from Goldrush. Drawn at peg 55 he had 60lb 10oz of carp to 5lb on pole and cat meat fished tight to the snags.

Saturday's 104-entry match saw every peg on Partridge, Skylark and Kestrel pressed into action. Pegs at Patridge former dominated a superb match as the fish begin to shoal up prior to spawning.
Mark Coyne (MAP Elton) led the way from Partridge 16, where he fished caster up in the water at 14 metres for 163lb 8oz of carp to 5lb.
At peg 18 on the same lake David Bell (North Ormesby) fished shallow with pellet for his all carp net of 127lb 1oz
