A RUN feast at Hemingbrough in division two saw the home side win by four wickets with just one delivery to spare.
Rowntrees batsman Richard Tuite hit his 13th league century when he dominated the early proceedings making 135. His efforts, combined with 32 from Gerry Capelin, enabled the York side to reach full batting points for the loss of just two wickets before Nabeel Khan benefited from the late innings run chase to grab 5-45 as Rowntrees were dismissed in the final over for 242.
Nathan Briggs then made 38 before Maqsood Akbar demonstrated his record breaking form of last year by hitting 125 and James Dougherty completed the task with an unbeaten 23.
Stamford Bridge are in third place after having by far the better of the exchanges at Crayke.
Phil Hill hit an unbeaten 70 and Matt Beckett 44 as Bridge reached 220-5.
Paul Hutchinson responded with 38 but Stuart Boyle applied the brakes with 3-24 as the Hambleton side made 129-6.
Both sides earned their five batting points at St Helen's Road where Hovingham's 200 all out was surpassed by Dringhouses for the loss of eight wickets.
A good team effort saw Alistair Thorpe make 42, James Banks 32, Paul Ryan 31 and Nick Elliott 36 for Hovingham as Mick Kenyon took 3-45.
When the home side replied, Andy Kenyon made 38, Nigel Ring 31 and Mick Kenyon 36 before an unbeaten 33 from Grant McLean clinched the issue.
