HAVING just returned from the planet Zog I read the letters page from the last few years and a recurring theme appears, as if by magic.

Cyclists, motorists and pedestrians here appear not to like each other. People on Zog use all these forms of transport and frown upon the minority who appear to be too dense to follow certain basic principles. For instance: cars parked on pavements, cyclists sneaking through red lights, or pedestrians whose eyesight suddenly fails them when crossing the road.

Obviously, when on Zog, they are instantly banished, never to return, which is how I got back here.

Yes, I am the only person in York with a car, a cycle and am a pedestrian. Yes, I freely admit, I make mistakes.

However never, ever become involved in waste-of-time arguments about the above.

I strongly recommend that certain letter writers get a life (try Zog - it's good).
