ONE hundred jobs dealing with Norwich Union Life "new business" are in the balance - but this is not expected to have any impact on the company's York headquarters.
A Norwich Union Life spokeswoman confirmed today that, as part of a feasibility exercise, staff dealing with new business had been told of the possibility of 100 cuts in their area of work as a result of plans by parent company Aviva to export 2,350 posts across the group to India.
"But of the 600 new business jobs, only 200 are in York and we don't expect any impact in York," she said.
In April, Norwich Union Life confirmed that about 25 IT department employees in York would be affected by the jobs switch to India, but all would be found other jobs in the organisation.
