AN Olympic-style event will mark the launch of the Oaklands Sports Partnership taking place at Huntington Stadium, on May 26.
The partnership, made up of 21 primary schools, four special schools and five secondary schools, is part of a government scheme to ensure youngsters get two hours of PE a week.
At the launch each school will be nominated a country to represent, and an Olympic-style opening ceremony will start the day off. There will be a variety of different events on the day, including beat the goalie, orienteering and team races.
Lisa Wood, of the Oaklands Sports Partnership, said: "By working with schools and local clubs, we aim to increase the opportunities for young people to get more involved in sport."
