CHILDREN from four York schools will be getting together for a musical performance at the city's National Railway Museum.
Youngsters from Burnholme Community College, Galtres School, Lidgett Grove School and Poppleton Ousebank School will be taking part in the performance on Friday, May 21.
The event is being run by Amicus, a music project which brings together the work of special and mainstream schools.
The production, called The Sound Of Speed, will tell the story of trains from the 1800s to the 1900s. Children will use bits of real trains to generate the sounds.
The event is part of the month-long York Music Live Festival.
Alison Goffin, head of music for the City of York Council's arts service, said: "Any work that brings groups of children together to create music in this way is always exciting.
"The arts service is keen to support the work that Amicus does in schools and we hope that such projects will become regular events."
