LAKESIDE Primary School completed a terrific treble with victory in the final of the York and District Schools' Under-11s Cup at Bootham Crescent.
Both the semi-finals and the final of the seven-a-side competition were played on the night, with Lakeside seeing off Dunnington 2-1, thanks to goals from Adam Johnson and Jack Maud before beating Poppleton 2-0 in the final courtesy of strikes by Johnson and Dan Dan Smith.
Poppleton had beaten Ralph Butterfield 5-4 on penalties in their semi-final.
Lakeside's victory followed triumphs in both the North Yorkshire Schools' Championship, which was also seven-a-side, and the PTA Five-a-side tournament.
The side are coached by parent Gary Walker and teacher Richard Crabtree. Walker said: "I think the key to our success has been a strong defence with lightning quick breaks and accurate finishing.
"The players will be going to secondary schools now so it was nice to finish like that before the team splits up."
All Saints beat Tadcaster 3-2 in the U12 final, Millthorpe defeated Oaklands 2-0 in the U14 final and the U16s final between Manor and Fulford ended 2-2.
Arriva Trains Northern sponsored man of the match awards for each side in all the finals.
The awards went to U11 - Jack Maud (Lakeside) and Jamie Whitworth (Poppleton Road), U12 - Lee Fisher (All Saints) and Joe Breedon (Tadcaster), U14 - Mark Wilson (Millthorpe) and Chris Smith (Oaklands), U16 - Tom Breslin (Manor) and Joe Fotte (Fulford).
