YORK always has a spring in its step on the first day of the races.
And this year, the nationally-renowned racecourse promises a better day out than ever.
Punters can bet at the new Tote shop, tuck into the improved course catering, try out the fast-track restaurant, watch the banks of monitors and generally make the most of what bosses say are 50 projects to improve the racecourse.
If that is not enough, you can even step outside and watch a horse race or two.
