MICHAEL Byram scored twice in extra time as Haxby Town 'A' lifted the York FA Acaster Steel Junior Cup by beating Rawcliffe 4-2.
Haxby were on top early on with Michael Byram and Mathew Clay prominent and it was no surprise when Ryan Qualter fired them in to the lead with a great shot from the edge of the box.
But Rawcliffe were level six minutes later when captain Chris Metcalfe netted after good work by Tom Jackson.
Rawcliffe then took the lead with a lob from Luke Taylor but Marco Shepherd equalised on 22 minutes with a shot from outside the area.
Jackson went close to regaining the lead for Rawcliffe, whose James Pilmoor excelled in defence.
Four minutes in to extra time Byram netted for Haxby after a cross from Shepherd. Rawcliffe's substitute goalkeeper Matthew Potter made a couple of outstanding saves but could not stop Byram from scoring his second to seal victory for Haxby, who received the trophy from David Pudey on behalf of sponsors Acaster Steel.
The York FA Senior Minor Cup final was a repeat of the League Cup final with Rufforth United beating Pickering Town 4-3.
Rufforth got off to a flying start with a great header from Adam Blair from a cross by man of the match Liam Stilgoe.
Blair then had a long-range shot saved by Pickering goalkeeper Robert Featherstone, John Brown responding for the young Pikes with a shot over the bar.
Rufforth then lost their composure and had three men booked by referee Peter Hartley for contesting decisions and three minutes before the interval Pickering drew level with a Brown free-kick.
A minute later Brown got on the end of another free-kick to head Pickering in front.
Rufforth were calmer after half-time and equalised with a Stilgoe penalty after a trip in the box.
The village side then got their noses in front when a long-range shot from Jamie Gavin was misjudged by the Pickering 'keeper and midway through the half Stilgoe opened up the Pickering defence for Jack Pinder to net the fourth Rufforth goal.
Brown then shot in his hat-trick strike to set up a grandstand finish but Rufforth hung on as Pickering, with Bobby Ehima prominent, pressed for an equaliser.
Chris Dale of York and District FA made the presentations.
The next York and District League final is the Reserve Cup showdown between Dringhouses and Haxby United at York Railway Institute tonight at 7pm.
