Heworth ARL Club's Under-8s won an exciting match at Crigglestone, who were restricted to two tries by some tremendous tackling by the young villagers.
Joseph Jackson and James Kilmartin both scored hat-tricks and kicked a goal with other conversions coming from Liam Forshaw, Louis Horwell and Matthew Little. Natham Hammerton topped the tackle count and William Shipley was voted the most improved player.
A late try gave Heworth U9s victory at home to Garforth after trailing by a couple of tries at half time.
Tries for the Black and Whites came from man-of-the-match Daniel Coulson (2), Alex Clough (2), James Homan and William Barratt. Goals were kicked by Harry Deighton (2), Coulson and Homan, who was the most improved player award winner. Peter Clark topped the tackle count.
