THE University of York-proposed East Development is to be welcomed and should be fully supported by the citizens of York.
It brings with it many additional jobs covering a wide range of skills which will benefit our city immediately and help our school children to find good jobs locally in the future.
Considerable effort needs to be made at the planning stage of the new development to create parkland settings for the buildings, well screened from existing houses.
The transit system between the various university buildings also needs to be high tech, pollution free and of low visual impact, such as a mono rail system. I fully support it.
