LAST week I was privileged to have been in the audience at the third UK performance of Titanic - The Musical, performed by York Musical Theatre Company at the Theatre Royal and offer my sincere congratulations to every one concerned with this fantastic production.
This is not a musical about a disaster - this is a show about real people, some of whom express their hopes and thoughts about their new lives in America, ironically on the "ship of dreams".
The fact that we know what is going to happen to them makes their situation all the more moving.
It was a terrific coup for the company to get this show - no doubt there will be many successors, including professional ones, but as they say, "you saw it here first".
Thank you all once again for a unique experience and a wonderful afternoon's entertainment.
Mike Veal,
Bramble Dene,
York.
