THIS week's peek at the past shows the changing face of two York bridges.
Thousands of York City fans will be familiar with the railway bridge at the bottom of Grosvenor Terrace, shown here with a steam train running under it in March, 1962.
Supporters have trudged across the structure for decades to reach the city's theatre of dreams, Bootham Crescent.
Older fans will recognise the old "glass" bridge which was replaced by the concrete version in the 1960s.
Our third image from April, 1963 depicts engineering work in progress on Haxby Road bridge which was being widened for traffic. Workmen can be seen here excavating for the foundations of the new extension.
The last picture shows the bridge four months on with the widening almost complete.
