Sewerby's bowlers were in devastating form at Mille Crux where they whistled out Rowntrees for just 37 to record their third win and retain the second division leadership.

Batting first in a game which had been threatened by an extremely wet outfield, Sewerby made 141-9 with Mitchell Rowing making 44, Rupert Coates 32 and Joe Edmundson 34.

Three Rowntrees bowlers had satisfactory spells with Dave Whittle's 3-21 being the pick of the trio. Paul Horner took 3-61 and Richard Tuite 3-57. Rowntrees then collapsed as Coates took 4-16 and Sam Edmondson 3-3.

Hemingbrough's batsmen amassed an enormouse score when they made their first trip to Harrogate's St George's Road.

After losing an early wicket at 19, Imran Malik and Maqsood Akbar combined in an unbroken second wicket stand of 232 to put the game beyond the home side.

Akbar, who hit a record seven centuries in Hemingbrough's third division title triumph last year, was unbeaten on 119, his partner making 115no.

Harrogate enjoyed handy knocks from Kane Gordon 41, Jim Codling 36 and Faron Norris 27 but a spell of 7-49 by ex-Pudsey St Lawrence bowler Gurdav Singh shot out the hosts for 175.

Hafiz Khalid was another centurion when his unbeaten 127 steered Bridlington to an eight-wicket win at Hovingham Hall. The home side mustered 157-7 through Stuart Prest 31, James Banks 28 and John Mosey 33 as Stephen Briggs bagged 5-58. Hafeez monopolised Bridlington's reply with Brian Rudd's 29 being the other contribution.

Stamford Bridge were denied their first win of the season but a draw against Scarborough moved them into fifth place.

Stuart Boyle top-scored with 56 in Bridge's 188 with help coming from Andy Milner 32 and Paul Milner 35.

Overseas star Luke van Kempen shone like a lone star for the Seasiders when he took 5-54 and then made 45. However, Peter Aconley took 3-28 to ensure Stamford's better return with Scarborough closing on 116-8.
