Darren Wyrill maintained his run of high scores as Malton batted first against Hull Zingari and was probably denied a second successive three-figure score by a reduction in the overs from 48 to 30.
He made an unbeaten 70, having helped Neil Johnson, 74, in an opening stand of 141 as Malton posted 164-1. Ryan Bulger 3-27 then posed problems for visiting Hull Zingari who made 83-5 in reply.
There was an equally tight division one finish at Carlton Towers which saw the home side lose by one run to Osbaldwick whose wicket-keeper Ian Wilson effected two stumpings to claim the last two home wickets.
Australian Glen Jones made 49, Mark Thompson 36 and Richie Carew 27 in Osbaldwick's 154-7 with off-spinner Abhay Sharma taking 3-58.
Carlton captain Lee Hanson retaliated with 60 but Shaun White took 4-56 and Dave Thompson 3-42 so that Carlton's last pair needed two to win off two balls. Their bid was doomed when Wilson made his third stumping off the penultimate delivery.
