WHEN the country kicked out John Major and his gang in 1997, I felt we had seen the end of incompetent politicians, but recent events have made me think again.
In its place we have a Government that has connived at the illegal occupation of Iraq, is determined to exclude poorer children from having a university education, and supports private healthcare.
And what does Hugh Bayley think about it? I can't tell, because his mind is always too occupied with the eradication of field sports!
Fewer people turned out to vote at the last General Election and, if sniping at those guardians of the countryside who follow hounds is one of the most important points in the manifesto, then even fewer will bother next time.
