PAUL Botterill gamed in a stunning 14 darts for Volunteer in their York Phoenix Open League division one match at Pack.
Volunteer took the match within the singles. Mike Harris added a 22 darter as Pack salvaged the last two pairs games.
Rich Corner (19) gave Bay Horse the perfect start before Nick Harteveld got Phoenix on the scoreboard. Corner added a maximum in a 25 dart pairs leg with Dave O'Hara, and Allan Galley also notched a pairs maximum.
Howden took the pairs games to secure the win at Woodman, whose Jim Kelly gamed in 19. Tony Noble had an 18 darter for Cygnet against Crescent.
Woolpack, early leaders in division two, had Dave Dalton out in 22 against Huntington 'A'. Baz Sherratt-Stan Isaac took the decider for Vaults at Jackdaw.
A bull finish from Dean Smallwood set Leeman on the way to 6-3 win at Yearsley.
Mark Thornton-Claire Grimley were Locomotive's matchwinners at Huntington 'B'. Frank Cartin starred for Three Cranes in their 7-2 win at Indoor Bowls. He hit a 180 in his 25 dart pairs game with Geoff Dawson, who earlier had a 77 finish.
Phil Paylor-Karen Alton were Reindeer's matchwinners against Clarence WMC.
Division three teams Burton and Ship Inn have dropped out of the league. Mount 'B' have taken Ship Inn's place at No 6.
Dave O'Hara starred for Huntington in their York John Smith's Mixed League encounter with Leeman 'A'.
With a maximum for 18 darts, O'Hara was well backed by Angie Heilds with a creditable 20 and Dave O'Hara with 22. Martyn Turner closed in 19 then include a 180 in his pairs for Leeman. Jon O'Mara gamed in 20 for Cueball.
A fine treble 15 followed by bull finish from Ian Powell didn't stop Cygnet 'D' from recording an 8-3 result.
Doreen and Ian Johnstone took the deciding leg for Slipper at Cygnet 'B' as did Ken Smith and Lisa Moore for Crescent against Cygnet 'C'.
Turner hits max in great display
MARTYN Turner hit a 180 for a fantastic 15 darts for Clifton 'A' in York John Smith's Men's Darts League division one.
Martin Waddington checked in 21 but they could not overcome Shepherd 'A' who ran out 5-4 victors after good wins from Mick Willsden (18), Mark Jones and matchwinners Heath Scaife-Tony Chapman.
A superb 16 darts from Lee Brundrett ensured Poacher took the aggregate as Cygnet 'A' claimed the match 6-3 with good wins from Mark Hartley (19), Dave Mason (21) and John Mooring-Dave Gibbons.
Garry O'Reagan (18) and Lee Carter (21) led Golden Slipper to a 7-2 win at Crescent.
Ged McMahon (20), Andy Carruthers and Barry McLaughlin nudged Swan to their first points with a 6-3 win over Cueball. John Pickering and Neil Long led Mitre to an 8-1 demolition at Dringhouses.
Division two front-runners Clifton 'B' had Barry Noble (16) and John O'Mara (20) to the fore as they crushed Holgate 8-1. Steve Snowden (19) and Paul Wilson (78 finish) nudged Britannia to a 7-2 win at Institute.
A fantastic 145 finish by Brian Harden and a 86 bull finish from Paul Bartnett capped an 8-1 win for Rose & Crown over Osbaldwick.
A good win by Glenn Waterworth allowed Glyn Jeffries-Dean Walton to take the decider for Blacksmith's over Slip.
