Colin Blunstone's heart has been breaking for 40 years.
One of the only two 'reformed' British original five-man outfit Sixties 'boys bands' that took America by storm in the Sixties, Colin has made it his business to make music and money out of new, lost and unrequited love in his breathy, yearning tones.
The voice is still as melodic and distinctive as ever and now he and old Zombie mate, Rod Argent, have resurrected the Zombies.
Last month they completed a 23-date nationwide tour. But The Zombies are more than just a throw-back to the Sixties; their music has influenced the likes of Billy Joel, Super Furry Animals, Paul Weller and REM and Tom Petty down the years. Two songs really stand out here, In My Mind Of Miracles, with echoes of the Flower Power era, and a reworking of the all-time classic, I Don't Believe In Miracles.
The Zombies are now reduced to two, but with Argent's undoubted songwriting abilities and Blunstone's haunting voice, they are not the walking dead. There's life in the old boys yet but still fondly remember Blunstone's Caroline Goodbye..
