Heworth claimed their first-ever trophy when they came from behind to defeat Shoulder of Mutton 3-2 in the Mecca Trophy final.
Mutton took the lead with a scrambled goal by Charlton but Heworth were level almost instantly. A pass back by Andrew Surgenor was short and the clearance by 'keeper Usher hit the onrushing Matty Coop and flew into the net.
Dave Harvey had an effort cleared off the line by the desperate Shoulder defence but five minutes later man-of-the-match Harvey rounded off a superb move with a 15-yard strike.
Heworth continued to dominate but Jim Surgenor missed a glorious chance when he headed straight at the 'keeper.
Heworth sealed victory in the 81st minute when Coop broke away before coolly lobbing over the advancing Usher.
There was a final twist as Mike Clay reduced the arrears but it was mere consolation as referee Steve Holman blew for time immediately after the restart.
