YOUNG adventurers volunteered to work at York Cemetery to raise cash for an expedition to Morocco.
The six teenagers from St Peter's School, York, spent a day restoring the scented walk on the 24-acre site, which is designed for the visually impaired.
The cemetery warden, Vanessa Temple, said: "The group had an excellent day working alongside cemetery volunteers and made a visible difference to the scented walk.
"It was also excellent to be able to tell young people about the site, both its history and wildlife, so they understand why so many people care so much about the cemetery."
The teenagers were sponsored during their time at the cemetery to raise funds for the trek, which starts in July.
The students will spend two weeks on the adventure, starting in Marrakech, and visiting the Atlas Mountains.
