CHARTERED building surveyor Colin Linley, 49, has been appointed a director of chartered surveyors and property consultants, Lightly & Lightly.
His promotion from associate director brings the number of directors at the business, which has offices in York, Harrogate and Hull, to three.
Colin, who lives at Clifton, York, and concentrates mainly on the project management of large construction projects, is also a chartered project manager, a Fellow of the Association of Building Engineers and a Member of The Chartered Institute of Building. He joined Lightly & Lightly 14 years ago from Courage Northern.
His promotion coincides with the retirement from the business of founder Tony Lightly, a well-known figure in the North Yorkshire business community, who established the business in Coney Street in 1982.
John Denton, director at the Lightly & Lightly York office, said: "We are delighted to welcome to the board Colin, who has done sterling work with us over many years - a move which is dictated by our continuing growth as we continue to win business in competition against larger firms.
"However, we are all aware that none of us would be working in this thriving business if it were not for the hard work put in by Tony Lightly in getting the enterprise off the ground and developing it over the last 22 years. We have all thoroughly enjoyed working with him and wish him all the best for the future."
Lightly & Lightly works regionally and nationally offering a range of services including surveying, property inspections, project and construction management and health and safety work.
