PICKERING Royal Oak bid for a cup double on Friday after lifting the RJF Homes Beckett League's Ryedale Hospital Cup with a 6-1 triumph over Duncombe Park in the final at Kirkbymoorside on Saturday.

They play Kirkdale United in the Victory Cup final for top four teams on Friday at Pickering Town's Mill Lane ground, kick-off 7.30pm.

Royal Oak's Hospital Cup win was revenge for them having lost to Duncombe Park in last year's final.

Alex McRae opened the scoring after nine minutes with a 12 yard shot. A minute later Terry Davison made it 2-0 and Damon Cox got his 20th goal of the zeason when he lobbed the ball over Park's keeper for Royal Oak's third after 34 minutes.

Duncombe Park captain Will Smith scored with a header in the last minute of the first half.

In the second half Davison (65 minutes), Ben Thompson (78 minutes) and Adam Hornby with a last minute header completed Royal Oak's success.

In the Victory Cup semi-finals Royal Oak beat Kirkbymoorside Reserves 3-0 with goals from Thompson, McRae and Hornby, while Kirkdale United won 3-1 at Rosedale, who took the lead in the 18th minute through Richard Wilkinson. Chris Simpson equalised after an hour, Ashley Windress put Kirkdale ahead after 73 minutes and Simpson wrapped it up in the 83rd minute.

In the Marisa Trophy, Danny Cass scored five of Heslerton Reserves' goals in their 6-2 first round win over Carlton United. Ashley Cooke was Heslerton's other marksman. Danny Wood and Jonathan Pearson netted for Carlton.

Heslerton are at Thornton-le-Dale tomorrow (Wednesday) in the quarter-finals and the winners will be at home to Gillamoor.

Ampleforth beat Ryedale SC Reserves 4-0 in the Marisa Trophy quarter-finals with goals from Colin Casey, Carl Robinson, Ed Fawcett and Dave Wallinger.

Black Swan Pickering beat Sinnington 3-1 to reach the semi-finals. David Wilkinson put the Sinners head after 27 minutes. Paul Mann equalised five minutes later and Adrian Voicu and Simon Dale made it 3-1 before the interval.

Gillamoor beat Bagby and Balk 4-1 with goals from Jonathan Cresswell (2), Gary Stamper and Stephen Robertshaw.
