THE premier division championship in Leeper Hare York and District League could be decided tonight when leaders Dringhouses entertain second-placed Pocklington Town.

Both of them had comfortable wins on Saturday, Pocklington 4-0 away to Wigginton Grasshoppers and Dringhouses 8-0 at Kartiers.

Neil Wilford gave Pocklington the lead after 15 minutes, but it wasn't until the 65th minute that Graham Whitehead provided the cross for Richard Millet to make it 2 - 0.

Grasshoppers then lost their will to win and goals from Neil Durkin and another from Millet made the final score 4-0 to Pocklington.

Dringhouses were six up by half-time at Selby Kartiers, with four goals from Mark Woodward and one apiece from Craig McShane and Lee Atkinson.

Woodward bagged another after the break and Adam Fishwick rounded off the scoring.

Copmanthorpe won 2-1 at home to Malton Bacon Factory.

The home side went in front after only five minutes through Matty Bastock as the visitors struggled to come to terms with the bumpy pitch, but as they settled they began to exert pressure on the Copmanthorpe defence without creating any clear cut chances.

The second half continued in the same pattern with the Factory side pressing for an equaliser and Copmanthorpe looking dangerous on the break.

Bastock went close again before he made it 2-0 in the seventieth minute. Jamie Barker struck home a 25 yard free kick for the visitors five minutes later.

Chris Harkin netted a hat trick as Tate & Lyle Selby saw off Dunnington 6-0. Steve Milner, Darren Fawcett and Adam Durnin added the other goals.

Several Wigginton Black Horse veterans played the final games of their careers on Saturday -- and a sad end it was as Black Horse were trounced 10-0 by Huntington Rovers.

Black Horse coach Graham Vickers, 41-year-old former Harrogate Railway and ex-Huntington player Paul Pemberton, Paul's brother Mark, who aimed to play for a short period despite injury, Rob Whitaker and Darren Winterton were those who decided to make this match their final appearance.
