Playing their first game on their new 'home' ground at Heslington, Civil Service's York and District Senior League division six side completed a splendid day for their club when they beat New Earswick by ten wickets.
Gavin Dickinson celebrated his move from Copmanthorpe by taking three wickets without conceding a run as New Earswick were dismissed for 61. Dave Turner then hit an unbeaten 48 as Service won easily.
Dick Salmon had a tremendous game for Londesbrough Park, who snatched a one wicket victory over Rowntree with an unbroken last wicket stand of 37.
Rowntree made 153-7, with Salmon taking 5-47 in 16 steady overs. He then played a magnificent innings as he battled against Rowntree's drive to record their first win since 2003.
His cause seemed to be lost when the ninth wicket fell at 117 but he skilfully farmed the bowling and remained unbeaten with 80 when Park gained their fine win.
