YORK City travelled to table-topping Doncaster this afternoon with 1973 'Great Escape' hero Jimmy Seal hoping the club can still avoid relegation to the Nationwide Conference.
Seal scored the winning goal at Rotherham to keep the Minstermen in the old Division Three on the final day of the 72/73 season and the 53-year-old former striker was wishing for a similar result in South Yorkshire today.
City remain three points short of safety with three games to go and a vastly inferior goal difference to their relegation rivals but Seal insists that, while there is still a mathematical possibility of survival, City must ensure they are ready to take their chance.
