THE ongoing "power struggle" in Strensall (April 21) highlights the futility of such a quorum in this day and age. Residents are entitled to a more structured and cohesive representative body and we should, therefore, seriously consider becoming part of City of York Council proper, thereby addressing issues to bona fide elected members, albeit politically orientated.
This is an ideal opportunity to be rid of the antiquated, nigh on feudal, system that areas such as Strensall have inherited since the Local Government review in 1996.
Perhaps we may then get our village sign repaired!
