DON'T call me Stephen Hunt. Call me... Edgar J Frobisher. It won't make any difference to what I write, but hey, you might be fooled long enough to have a read.
For, don't you see, it's the style of the day. The Alarm gatecrash the charts as The Poppyfields, Terence Trent D'Arby works under the moniker of Sananda Maitreya - and yes, that's Del Amitri singer Justin Currie's voice you hear growling away in The Uncle Devil Show alongside fellow scots Kevin and Jim McDermott.
But is it any good, this guitar folk-pop, bristling with potential that never quite explodes? The Bimbo In The Limo is the only track with the edge to merit mainstream attention, while Gilbert O'Sullivan and Strange Umbrella represent the extremes of genius and garbage that will be familiar to those who always wanted Del Amitri to be something more, something greater.
Instead, this is just another sheep in wolf's clothing.
