I WAS surprised that architect Matthew Laverack criticised the council's recommendation of approval for the Barbican Venture planning application (Letters, April 20).
Surely he should view this as a positive step change by planners, in allowing greater densities on brownfield sites, which will in turn relieve pressure on the green belt - a commendable approach.
And you never know Matthew, they may be more agreeable with your future applications, but, if they are not, then you have the argument of precedent, if you choose to appeal.
