Bishopthorpe'S dramatic 2-1 win at Huntington on Monday night will take the Leeper Hare York and District League premier division relegation battle down to the last games.
There was no score in an even first half, but Connor McGuire put Bishopthorpe in front as they enjoyed the better of the first 20 minutes of the second period.
Huntington rallied and Mark Gambles equalised only for Neil Sanderson to hit Bishopthorpe's winner with five minutes left.
Bishopthorpe have to win their last game against relegated Rufforth to avoid the drop.
Nestl Rowntree have the harder task as they play Copmanthorpe at Mille Crux tonight and a win will see them safe as they have a better goal difference.
Haxby and St John's College both won in the race for second place in division one, with Haxby, 3-1 victors over South Bank, installed as favourites provided they win all their games in hand.
Riccall's 2-0 home defeat against St John's leaves them in danger of the drop, needing four points from their last two games to be sure of safety.
Heslington missed the chance to go second in division two as they were thumped 9-2 by Poppleton. That leaves Selby RSSC as favourites to take the second promotion spot.
Tockwith secured the point they needed for the division three title with a 3-0 win at Sheriff Hutton.
Dringhouses retained their Reserve 'A' title by beating their nearest rivals, Kartiers 2-1.
