YORK Police are hunting two Asian teenagers who pulled a man from his bike and slashed him across the face.
The attack happened as the man was cycling along Kitchener Street, off Haxby Road, at 6.40pm yesterday. A police spokesman said one of the teenagers pulled him off the bike in an attempt to steal it and in the struggle he suffered two cuts to his face after being slashed with a "sharp instrument".
The victim was taken to York Hospital, but later released.
The first teenager is described as being aged about 15, of Asian appearance, 5ft 9in tall, with black hair, facial hair and a chubby face. He was wearing a blue baseball cap with an NY logo on it, white shoes, blue Adidas tracksuit bottoms and a dark hooded sweatshirt.
The second man is described as aged about 15, also of Asian appearance, and black hair, with a centre parting. Any witnesses should phone York Police on 01904 631321.
