EGGS-TRAVAGANT bosses at McArthurGlen York ordered dozens more chocolate eggs than they needed for their annual Easter egg trail.
So they arranged to send the surplus treats to local charity Special Needs Activities and Play Provision for York (SNAPPY).
Amy Watkinson, marketing officer, said although the decision was made to help a local group, organisers also had an eye on the waistlines of chocolate-hungry staff.
She said: "When we offered the 72 eggs to SNAPPY they almost bit our hands off. The staff probably didn't want to eat them anyway, they've had plenty over Easter."
Youngsters followed a trail of 15 cardboard bunnies around the Fulford retail outlet to win an egg at the weekend.
SNAPPY runs play schemes and activities for children with special needs in York.
