YORK Acorn boss Dave Kay reckons his side still have enough to play for to gee themselves up for the last game of their Arriva Trains Conference division two campaign.
The Blue and Golds visit Waterhead with both teams encamped in the bottom half of the table but well clear of danger.
However, Kay is aiming to finish on a hat-trick and keep their opponents below them in the rankings.
He said: "We've won our last two on the trot and want to finish with three on the bounce. They are a point behind us as well so there is a league position to contest and there's a bit of pride to play for."
Kay, whose only injury doubt is Gary Isles with a calf strain, is unlikely to give any new youngsters some Conference experience. "In the last few weeks we've had a few young lads in anyway and they've done a good job, so we'll be keeping the same team as much as we can," he said.
"Also, the second team have got a semi-final on the same day so we don't want to disrupt that side."
Acorn 'A' face York Groves in the York and District Cup last four. Kay said if they reach the final the club are unlikely to bring in first-teamers, opting to keep faith with the regular ranks.
The other semi-final sees New Earswick All Blacks, winners of the York and District Accident Cup last week, visit Selby Warriors (ko 2pm).
Heworth ARLC stage their first and second team presentation night at the clubhouse on Saturday, May 8 (8pm).
