I'M a native-born "Yorkie", currently living in Arizona.
On a visit two years ago, I noticed that the air raid shelters on Albemarle Road had been demolished. This led me to wonder about the York Air Raid, of April 1942.
Do any of your readers have memories of this? I was born in 1944, so I missed it!
I'm planning a novel about life in Second World War England, and I feel that it would make a pleasant change for the story to be set away from London.
If any of your readers have memories of the raid that they would like to share, I can be contacted at the addresses below.
Many thanks.
