CHRIS Brass adopted a new-look line-up against Bury last night.

The York City player-boss recalled Leigh Wood to the starting line-up in his preferred midfield role in place of Richard Cooper, whilealso preferring Darren Dunning at left-wing back to David Merris.

He praised both players' performances, saying: "I thought Leigh Wood did exceptionally well when he came on at Cambridge in midfield and we looked more solid against Bury. We won more second balls and seemed more compact.

"David Merris has done well this season but needed a rest to be fair and Darren Dunning did exceptionally well out there. You know that he will always be up for the fight and also has quality."

Darren Edmondson also operated on the opposite flank for the second successive game after returning from injury but Brass thinks his captain can do better.

He said: "I still think there's a lot more to come from Darren. He's getting himself into opportunities but he's only had one good shot."

Brass thanked the Bootham Crescent crowd for their continued support. "There are no other fans in the country that will back you more than ours because they saved the club but it's up to us now to continue giving them something to be excited about."
