PETER Sissons, one of British television's most experienced and best-known news anchormen, will be taking part in the Business and Environment Conference near York later this month.
The former reporter, foreign correspondent and now award-winning anchorman, will use his skills to chair a series of panel discussions throughout the conference at which former National Farmers Union president, Sir Ben Gill, will be the keynote speaker.
The one-day conference at the Central Science Laboratory, Sand Hutton, a week tomorrow, will bring together a series of experts and business people to highlight ways for Yorkshire businesses to unlock new commercial potential by adopting the latest environmental initiatives.
The conference, aimed at a commercial audience of chief executives, entrepreneurs, owner-managers and financial directors is the idea of York-based commercial law firm Denison Till which is hosting the event jointly with Yorkshire Forward, Business Link York and North Yorkshire, University of York and Science City York.
Andrew Lindsay, the head of Denison Till's company commercial department, a partner with special expertise in environmental law, said: "This conference will highlight many real and practical ways for businesses to boost their profits by adopting new environmental practices.
"It is essential that the series of debates throughout the day are fully realised for the benefit of delegates and we are delighted that such an experienced national TV journalist as Peter Sissons has agreed to assist."
There are still tickets available for the conference which cost £95 for the day. To book contact Rebecca D'Agostino at Denison Till, phone 01904 561446.
