THE 19-year-old York man who suffered serious head injuries in a violent assault in the city centre has been released from York Hospital.
Detectives arrested three men in connection with the incident, which occurred at the junction of King Street and Clifford Street at 12.15am on Sunday. They have been bailed pending further inquiries.
Witnesses described a group of men leaving the scene in a white Mercedes-type van.

Meanwhile, the motorcyclist seriously injured after a collision on the A64, near York, was in a stable condition today.
Police said the man, from the Scunthorpe area, had been transferred to Hull Royal Infirmary from York Hospital for specialist treatment.
His machine - a blue Yamaha R6 - was in collision with a black Honda Civic as the car turned right off the A64 near the Thompson's fish restaurant, close to the Hazelbush crossroads, at 7.40pm on Sunday. Anyone who witnessed the crash should contact police on 01904 669884.
