FEATHERSTONE coach Gary Price says he would relish the chance to take on York for a fourth time this season should the sides be drawn together in the knockout stages of the Arriva Trains Cup.
Last night's group game result was ultimately academic as scores elsewhere meant both sides progressed to the quarter-final play-offs, Featherstone as the best third-placed team, but it nevertheless meant York completed a hat-trick of wins over Rovers, two in the ATC and one in the Challenge Cup.
The draw for the play-offs is on Wednesday night, with York set to face either Barrow, Doncaster, Oldham, Keighley - or Featherstone again. And when asked if he fancied another crack at the Knights, Price said: "Of course I would."
As for the match, he said: "It was one of those tough games from both teams. We came off worse with the referee, we've lost a couple of players and I won't argue with the decisions. There could have been a couple more from both sides. We're finding it hard enough to beat York with 13 men let alone 11."
He added: "We've qualified but not in the way we would have liked."
Price, meanwhile, was involved in a spat with Knights winger Alex Godfrey at the end of the game - the Evening Press believes the Rovers coach took offence at something Godfrey said as they shook hands - but neither he nor Knights coach Richard Agar made any comment about it.
