MARCIA and Selby Olympia WMC will contest the final of this season's John Smith's Sunday Morning League Challenge Trophy.
Olympia beat Blacksmiths Arms 2-1 in their semi-final - all the goals coming in the second half after Selby were denied by poor finishing and the woodwork in the opening 45 minutes.
The deadlock was broken four minutes after the restart when a left-wing corner was headed home by the unmarked Craig Hewitt. Five minutes later a Hewitt shot was blocked only for the ball to drop to Dave Raesbeck who drilled it home from 12 yards.
Blacksmiths were given a lifeline on 70 minutes when James Whalen cracked home a penalty but they missed several chances to equalise with Milner performing heroics in the Olympia goal.
Derwent United, aiming for a cup double after reaching the John Smith's Bitter Final, were torn apart by a Marcia team who hit top form on the day to secure a 6-0 victory. Steve Purdy (3), Karl Young, Greg Fitzmaurice and an own goal did the damage.
It will be an all-division four affair between Heworth and Shoulder of Mutton in the Mecca Trophy final.
Heworth caused the biggest upset when they killed Hambleton's dreams of a league and cup double.
The division four leaders found themselves two goals down at the break to goals from Collins and Coop. Reay and Croad scored in the second period but Gareth Sullivan netted to give Heworth a 3-2 victory.
Watkinson scored twice and Shaun Charlton added a third as Shoulder of Mutton won 3-1 at Fulford, Ben Smart netting for the home side.
