I WRITE in response to Nick Blitz's attack on me (April 6). I see that losing his council seat hasn't stopped him being patronising.
My support for extra policing, community safety and strong action against anti-social behaviour are a matter of public record. I share the concern about York's allocation of resources within the North Yorkshire police.
Whether Menwith Hill is a diversion of NYPD resources would be a good issue to resolve. Perhaps Chief Constable Della Cannings would be willing to meet me and my colleagues on the Community Safety Scrutiny Board to discuss these matters?
Perhaps I am more willing than Nick to be arrested for what I believe in. Like most York councillors, I am concerned about the lack of legal controls on Menwith Hill.
None of York's councillors have actually done something as illiberal as refer my arrest to the council standards committee - but Lib Dem member Nick Blitz is just the sort who would.
