TEN seconds after pressing 'play', my better half flings the door open. "What the hell is that!" is her not unreasonable question.
Riotous, chaotic Texan rockers Young Heart Attack make that kind of impression. You will love them or run screaming for the nearest set of earplugs. Imagine various members of AC/DC, Motorhead and US punk godfathers MC5 throwing a party where they get horrifically hammered on cheap booze, and for good measure, drag in soundalikes of Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant and Kate Pierson from the B52s to handle vocals.
Halfway through, the cops arrive and a huge brawl breaks out. That's pretty much what they sound like. The songs are great, the playing so fast and furious that the studio must have been splattered with blood and broken drumsticks by the end of the session. It's the kind of rock'n'roll racket that makes the likes of The Darkness and The Datsuns look like charlatans. YHA are undoubtedly the real thing. A hell of a debut album.
